Amanda graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) in 2009. She has returned to the Gladstone region after spending 6 years in Brisbane working predominantly in the biomechanical and sports Podiatry field. Amanda gained invaluable experience during this time working closely with many athletes and across a variety of sports. She had the opportunity to work closely with Netball Queensland completing preseason biomechanical and footwear screening and in-season injury prevention, management, and education for the state age, elite development, and QLD Firebirds teams.
Amanda has a thorough knowledge of general, work, and sport-specific footwear and endeavors to keep up to date with the constant changes. She enjoys all aspects of Podiatry but has a special interest in biomechanics, paediatric assessments, running assessments, and sports specific injuries. Amanda is passionate about keeping people of all ages pain-free and mobile and continuing to achieve their personal goals whether they be fitness related or improved daily living. She is a member of the APODC and is a member of the Qld Regional Podiatry Committee.
Amanda is qualified in all aspects of Podiatry, ranging from diabetic and vascular assessments, DVA foot care and medical-grade footwear prescription, general skin and nail care, and ingrown toenail treatment. She has also completed further training in foot mobilisation therapy, neuromuscular dry needling, and gait retraining.
