OUR pODIATRISTS

Podiatrist, Kate Brooks and her husband Kyle opened Encompass Podiatry in 2018 with the intention of making expert Podiatry services available to the Boyne Tannum area. As locals themselves, they have seen the importance of being able to access experienced health care providers without the need to travel. Our current team includes Podiatrists Amanda Tilley and Tracey Dieters, who were welcomed in 2019 and 2021 respectively. They bring a wealth of knowledge and diverse background of experience to the team. In reception, you will be greeted by Chloe and Jamie.

podiatrist / owner

Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry)
Kate graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) in 2010 and began her career in Wollongong NSW where she joined a busy and diverse general practice. She was fortunate to gain an additional position at the Illawara Sports Medicine Clinic, was quickly exposed to high level and professional athletes including the Illawara Hawks Basketball team.
After being recruited to Gladstone in 2013 as a senior Podiatrist, Kate enjoyed the challenge of supervising and mentoring graduate Podiatrists as well as working with locals in the community she grew up in. Kate has supervised students from QUT, CQU and UNSW over the course of her career and continues to mentor graduate Podiatrists. 2014-2016 brought a change of continent as Kate and her now-husband Kyle caught the travelling bug and toured through Alaska, Iceland, Canada and the USA. As well as earning their hiking stripes on some of Northern America’s most beautiful trails, Kate was able to use her Podiatry skills working in specialty shoe stores and with Canadian Pedorthists.  This exposure to technical running and hiking footwear was invaluable and allowed Kate to further her biomechanical assessment skills and breadth of knowledge for footwear prescription and orthotic design and production. In late 2017, Kate decided she could see an increased need for Podiatry services in her home town of Boyne Island & Tannum Sands and Encompass Podiatry welcomed it first feet through the doors at the start of 2018.
Kate enjoys all areas of Podiatry but has a keen interest in paediatric and sports Podiatry, along with diabetic preventative care and nail surgery.  Kate continues to expand her Podiatric skills and knowledge and has also completed further training in exercise prescription, dry needling and foot mobilisation therapy.  She is a passionate advocate that we shouldn’t allow foot or lower limb pain prevent us from enjoying the things we love in life and gets the most satisfaction from seeing her patients getting out and active and enjoying the beautiful Boyne Tannum area.
